In this course you are introduced to the new features in Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) through 10.1.2.0.2. You install Oracle Application Server Infrastructure and middle-tier components, specifically with performance, security, and high availability in mind. You learn to access and use Oracle Application Server management tools to effectively manage and customize configurations of the Oracle Application Server components. You learn about the new features in Oracle HTTP Server, OracleAS Web Cache and Oracle Internet Directory (Replication and Integration). You also learn about the high availability concepts and the features that are provided with Oracle Application Server Middle Tier and Infrastructure, about the different levels of availability provided by Oracle Application Server Clusters, how to configure backup and recovery tool and restore Oracle Application Server instances from a backup, how to implement Oracle Application Server Disaster Recovery (OracleAS Disaster Recovery) by using OracleAS Guard, how to configure various Business Intelligence components such as Oracle Business Intelligence Discoverer (OracleBI Discoverer), Oracle Reports, and Oracle Application Server Forms (OracleAS Forms). The course also includes hand-on practices for the important features.
