The Sun Java Enterprise System: Installation and Getting Started course provides students with an overview of the common architecture and system-level features of the Sun Java Enterprise System (Java Enterprise System), describes the installer architecture, the pre-installation and post-installation processes, and explains how to troubleshoot Java Enterprise System shared components during the installation.

This course also covers introductory knowledge and skills necessary to deploy, upgrade, and migrate to the Java Enterprise System. With the help of hands-on labs, students install components of the Java Enterprise System and perform a minimum configuration of the Java Enterprise System. The course does not include server-specific design, installation, configuration, or administration training. Other Sun courses provide server-specific training and are listed online at the following location: http://suned.sun.com/. Also, this course does not cover differences between the current version and previous versions of the Java Enterprise System.
