Learn advanced system administration skills for WebSphere MQ Level 2 queue managers that run on any of the distributed platforms supported by WebSphere MQ. During lectures and hands-on labs, build on the basic skills you developed during the prerequisite system administration course, adding skills in managing message channels, implementing channel security, improving performance, managing an MQ network, implementing Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) security, and updating WebSphere MQ by the installation of a SupportPac.

This is an advanced course for technical individuals who require advanced administrator skills for any of the WebSphere MQ products, except WebSphere MQ for z/OS, or who provide support to others performing this task. While this course is based on WebSphere MQ V6, it is also appropriate for persons who are supporting prior versions of WebSphere MQ on distributed platforms.

You should have practical experience in working with WebSphere MQ and you should complete one of the following courses:

WebSphere MQ System Administration (Windows) (MQ151) or
WebSphere MQ System Administration (AIX) (MQ152) or
WebSphere MQ System Administration (Sun Solaris) (MQ155) or
WebSphere MQ System Administration for (iSeries) (MQ160) or
WebSphere MQ for z/OS System Administration (MQ201)
or have equivalent experience

Manage a dead letter queue
Implement aspects of security in a distributed queuing environment
Improve the performance of WebSphere MQ taking into account the requirements of your installation

Understand the scope of automated function that is now available to support the management of a WebSphere MQ network
