Develop the basic concepts and skills you need to be a productive user on the i5 and iSeries Server. With plenty of hands-on labs, learn everything from signing on to a green screen environment and using the various screens to finding printouts, to sending and receiving messages, to making sense of security. Learn to use i5/OS and OS/400 Control Language (CL) commands, as the fast path, and the menus and displays, for first time users or infrequently performed tasks. Also, learn to use the graphical user interface, Navigator, available for use in the i5 and iSeries customer environments.

Learn how to use display station keyboards
Describe the various types of screen layouts on the i5 and iSeries system
Understand how to use the HELP support available for i5/OS and OS/400 functions
Learn how to send, receive, and remove messages and how to work with message queues
Display and change your user profile and change your password
Understand the concepts of objects and the different type of objects that can be created and stored
Learn how to secure an object
List the steps involved in setting up the different level OS security that can be set up
Clarify how work and jobs are handled by the system
Identify tools that are available to track and manage the work that can be performed on the system
Use CL command interface that is available on the system
Use Navigator to perform basic functions on an i5 and iSeries system
