Plan and install iSeries Access for Windows on iSeries systems and Personal Computers (PC) or
Set up and tailor iSeries Access for Windows on the iSeries system and PCs or
Provide technical support for iSeries Access for Windows users

You should be familiar with the basic operations of the Windows/XP user interface. It is beneficial to have experience with the following activities:

Using My Computer and Control Panel to control the workstation environment
Using the My Network Places icon to access, browse, and use files in the workstation network
Adding network adapters
Configuring TCP/IP
You should also have experience using OS/400 commands to:
Perform basic system operations
Work with devices (displays and printers)
Work with output queues
Work with AS/400 security

List the required software to install iSeries Access for Windows on the iSeries and on a Windows/XP workstation
Describe and execute the installation of iSeries Access for Windows on an iSeries and on a Windows/XP workstation
Establish a connection form a Windows/XP workstation to one or more iSeries systems using TCP/IP communications
Select and configure one or more views of iSeries system resources from a Windows/XP workstation
Route PC print output to an iSeries managed printer or iSeries print output to a PC-managed printer
Describe and use the basic functions provided by iSeries Navigator
Describe the basic functions provided by Management Central
Access, browse and use data from an iSeries system and other computers in the network, including data accessed through the Integrated File System (IFS) by using iSeries NetServer
Access, browse and use data from an iSeries system by implementing ODBC on the Windows/XP workstation
Download and upload data from and to the iSeries by using the Data Transfer function of iSeries Access for Windows
Describe and implement the different methods available to secure access to the iSeries via iSeries Access for Windows
