Learn how to use the iSeries collection services to gather performance data. Use the IBM Performance Tools for iSeries reports, displays, and graphics to analyze system performance, and the capacity planner to estimate resource utilization and manage system growth.

You should complete:

Operating System/400 Structure, Tailoring and Basic Tuning (S6023)
AND/OR be able to:
Use performance data from the WRKSYSSTS display to adjust pool sizes and activity levels in order to tune the system
Recognize jobs with high resource utilization on the WRKACTJOB display
Recognize major factors which could contribute to high faulting rates and resource conflicts
List the major components of an iSeries job
Distinguish between active, long wait, and ineligible job thread states
Describe the effect of run priority and timeslice on job performance
