This course is for information technology professionals, security professionals, network and system managers, and administrators tasked with installing, configuring, and maintaining the Symantec Gateway Security 5600 or 1600 series appliances. This audience includes end users and resellers in this role.
 
prerequisites
  
 
You should have working knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and communications concepts. This includes knowledge about Layer 3 IP addressing, Layer 4 port addressing, sub-network masking implementation, IP routing operation, and IP packet forwarding. You must have basic experience with Windows 2000 and Linux operating system navigation and software installation as well as a basic understanding of key security disciplines (firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention, policy management, vulnerability assessment, antivirus components, and so on).
