Learn to develop the more advanced skills you need to be an administrator for WebSphere MQ on z/OS Version 6.0. Build on the skills you learned in: WebSphere MQ for z/OS System Administration (MQ201) Expand your knowledge of WebSphere MQ channels and of the cluster facility introduced with MQSeries Version 5. Learn the new functions introduced in MQSeries for OS/390 Version 5.2, such as channel exit programming, the statistic and accounting facilities, and the Queue Sharing Group (QSG), which is the z/OS Sysplex support for WebSphere MQ and the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) support for TCP/IP channels introduced with WebSphere MQ for z/OS, Version 5.3.

Manage message channels more effectively
Enable messages to flow between any two queue managers in an WebSphere MQ network through dedicated paths, as implied by network conditions or application needs
Design the use of SSL for securing TCP/IP channels and set up the appropriate security definitions and the WebSphere MQ objects referring to them

Set up and administer clusters of queue managers
Set up a QSG of queue managers in an z/OS (OS/390) Sysplex environment and administer the QSG related resources such as queues and channels
Make use of the statistics and accounting facilities provided with WebSphere MQ for z/OS in order to optimize the use of system resources
