This course provides a fundamental understanding and hands-on experience using WebSphere Transformation Extender to monitor, manage, and troubleshoot WTX systems running in a production environment. You learn how to prepare systems for deployment, configure and fine tune the WebSphere Transformation Extender Launcher, and remotely monitor and manage WebSphere Transformation Extender systems. The course also explores troubleshooting tips and techniques.

Describe the Launcher architecture
Use the Launcher Administration application to configure the Event Server
Start and stop the Launcher in a Windows environment
Utilize the Management Console to enable Debug
Account the log files generated by the Management Console to identify problems in the system
Characterize the tasks that should be completed before systems are deployed to the production environment
Modify WTX initialization file parameters to affect Launcher performance and behavior

Deploy to a Unix server
Configure the Launcher on Unix
Remotely manage the Launcher using the Management Console and Launcher Monitor
Make use of the WTX Utility Commands
Define recommended practices for source control
Regulate log files, utility commands, and scripts to isolate problems in a running system
Explain the different services available when additional help is required
