New VEEAM Update 4 - Features and Training
With an increasing number of data and applications being migrated to the cloud, Veeam has been dominating the backup and data management market for highly virtualized cloud environments. With 343,000 trusted customers worldwide, more than 59,000 partners worldwide, and over 160 recognized top industry rewards- Veeam is helping organizations make the most of their IT investments. Veeam was designed for data management and backup of highly virtualized environments. Veeam Availability Suite is merely the combination of Veeam One and Veeam Backup & Replication. Managing cloud workloads in multi-cloud environments has been an increasing concern for IT leaders with 58% IT leaders stating that data migration is challenging, 61% not confident about cloud backup and recovery options and 82% of the leaders worried about the application's uptime.
The latest release of Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 Update 4 addresses these concerns with major new features that provide cloud-native backup and protection for AWS, enhances security and data governance, portable cloud-ready licensing, and several other desirable features making it easier for cloud service providers to render Veeam powered services to the market. Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 Update 4 is one of the most significant updates with several new enhancements that have been designed to improve the scalability of the Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 Update 4.
Here’s a glance at the new features included in Update 4:
Long Term Data Retention with Veeam Cloud Tier
The most innovative feature included in the latest release is the in-built automatic tiering feature, an extension of the Scale-Out Backup repository. Leveraging object storage has been there in the earlier versions also but the manner in which Cloud Tier uses Object Storage is what makes it innovative. You can offload older backup files to cheaper and affordable storage such as the on-premises or cloud object storage. Veaam’s native object storage integration with IBM Cloud Object Storage, Amazon S3, and Azure Blob Storage helps reduce the overall IT and storage costs.
Easy Cloud Data Portability with Veeam Cloud Mobility
The earlier versions of Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 provided the capability to send those backup files and covert them to Azure VM’s. With the latest release, customers can directly restore VM’s that have been backed up by Veeam Backup and Replication directly into EC2 instances. This feature provides easy recovery and portability of any cloud-based or on-premise workloads to Azure, Azure Stack, and AWS in just two simple steps to ensure high availability and business continuity in hybrid cloud environments.
Enter a Novel Era of Intelligent Diagnostics
Veeam One is one of the biggest components of Veeam Availability Suite 9.5 U4. One of the most fantastic features of Veeam One 9.5 U4 is -Veeam Intelligent Diagnostics that lets customers intelligently manage their data like never before. This novel feature makes Veeam Backup and Replication easier to use and manage and keeps customers one step ahead by eliminating potential issues much before they can cause any problems. A proactive resolution of configuration problems helps companies reduce management and support costs.
Enhanced Veeam DataLabs Staged and Secure Restore
Resiliency and compliance are a top priority for Veeam users. The new Veeam DataLabs is a buzz-worthy capability for customers to enjoy increased security and data governance. Veeam customers can enjoy enhanced data governance and security, including protection against malware and GDPR readiness. Veeam DataLabs Secure Restore does not prevent malicious attacks or prevent malware but allows customers to scan backups after restoring them to production. Whenever a customer attempts to recover their files, Secure Restore feature helps them verify that the backups are virus-free and safe before recovering to ensure that any malware has been removed from the network. Similarly, the capabilities of Veeam DataLabs Staged Restore helps simplify the restoration of backup data containing any sensitive information protected by GDPR regulations. This feature helps customers test their backup and make sure that whenever an incident occurs, recovery is efficient, effective, and secure.
