Getting Ready For AWS re:Invent 2019
December 2 to 6 in Las Vegas
Way back in 2003, a couple of engineers at Amazon had an idea: to offer the world access to standardized, automated web services through the company’s own computing infrastructure. Jeff Bezos said yes, and today, barely 15 years later, the brilliance of that idea speaks for itself. Amazon Web Services now owns a dominant share of the world’s cloud capacity, and its 2018 revenues exceeded $25 billion USD. As AWS continues adding to its services and capabilities, the IT world’s attention turns once again to AWS re:Invent, the annual Las Vegas celebration of all things AWS.
This year’s event takes place from December 2 to 6 across six large venues on the Las Vegas Strip. Once again, ExitCertified is proud to be part of the re:Invent family. You’ll find us at Booth 3036 in the Authorized Training Partner Pavilion, in the expo hall at the Venetian.
This year, we’re offering complimentary consultations with our own Myles Brown, an AWS Authorized Instructor Champion, Google Cloud-Certified Architect and ExitCertified’s Cloud and DevOps Technical Practice Lead.
In addition to offering general advice about succeeding with AWS, Myles will conduct assessments to show you where your organization stands within the Cloud Transformation Maturity Model.
Spaces for these free consultations are going quickly, so book yours now.
If this is your first time at re:Invent, you’ll want to be prepared. Over the four and a half days of the conference, over 2,500 sessions will be held, including deep technical explorations, hands-on bootcamps, hackathons, workshops, chalk talks, keynotes and of course, lots of opportunities to socialize and have fun.
Once there, you’ll be among the first to hear major announcements from the AWS leadership. At re:Invent 2018, participants learned about dozens of new services covering a vast range of topics, including application integration, blockchain, compute, databases, developer tools, machine learning, management, governance, the internet of things, media services, migration, transfer, mobile, networking, content delivery, robotics, satellite, storage and security. Whatever your area of interest, you’re certain to get useful new guidance and inspiration.
Plus, if you’re ready to take an AWS Certification exam, you’ll be interested to know that you can take that exam onsite at re:Invent. There are special rewards planned for attendees who are AWS Certified, so be sure to check it out. And if you still have courses to complete for certification, you can find all of them here.
With so much going on, re:Invent can be a little overwhelming for the first timer. Fortunately, AWS has a full series of orientation videos to help you and your organization find your way around and get the most value from the event.
AWS re:Invent isn’t just another tech conference. It’s the one time of the year when the notoriously secretive Amazon talks about the investments it’s making in the future of technology. Right now, Amazon is working to disrupt the foundations of the internet as we know it. AWS re:Invent is our rare opportunity to see how they’re doing it.
We look forward to seeing you there.
