This course focuses on accessing data on the SAS LASR Analytic Server and performing exploratory analysis and preparation. Topics include starting the SAS LASR Analytic Server, loading data onto the LASR Analytic Server, and manipulating data on the LASR Analytic Server using the IMSTAT procedure. IMSTAT topics include deriving new temporary and permanent tables and columns as well as calculating summary statistics such as means, frequency, and percentiles. Creating filters and joins on in-memory data are also discussed.

Skills Gained

  • start up a SAS LASR Analytic Server
  • load tables into memory on the LASR Analytic Server
  • process in-memory tables with PROC LASR and PROC IMSTAT
  • access data more efficiently via intelligent partitioning
  • derive new temporary and permanent tables and variables
  • create filters and joins on in-memory data
  • export ODS result tables for client-side graphic development
  • produce descriptive statistics including counts, percentiles, and means
  • create multidimensional summaries including cross-tabulations and contingency tables
  • derive kernel density estimates using normal functions.

Who Can Benefit

  • Experienced programmers who need to learn the syntax and functionality of the SAS LASR Analytic Server and the IMSTAT procedure

Prerequisites

  • Before attending this course, you should have experience writing SAS programs or working with other languages such as R.

Gave directions/document with great places to eat and area was very clean Free parking and food in kitchen in the morning

condensing the knowledge is dependent on the student being somewhat familiar with material. to make most of the class, requires being able to immediately apply in day-to-day operations.
i suspec those new to aws are somewhat lost.

Instructor was very knowledgeable and provided instructions worked well in the virtual labs and zoom sessions.

I felt the instructor had a wealth of knowledge. I would have liked to get access to the class materials sooner and have more time to access the labs. I would prefer to go through the lab in tandem with the materials

Good material and very knowledgeable instructor. The VM used is very effective and easy to navigate.
