In this course, you are introduced to Big Data and Oracle's Big Data solution. Learn how to install, configure, manage, and secure the Oracle Big Data Appliance. As you progress through the course, the following phases of Big Data are covered: Data acquisition and storage, data access and processing, data unification, and data discovery and analysis. You will also be introduced to the Oracle Big Data Cloud Service (BDCS).

Learn To:

  • Define Big Data.
  • Define Hadoop and its core components: Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) for distributed storage, and MapReduce or Spark for distributed processing.
  • Define the Hadoop ecosystem and review some of the projects in the ecosystem.
